UNN Department of Dentistry and Dental Technology Admission Requirement 2024/2025


This article is designed to help students who wish to study Dentistry and Dental Technology under the Faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Science at the University of  Nigeria  Nsukka.

It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered at UNN  to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

The university celebrated its 50th anniversary on October 2010


O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Dentistry and Dental Technology; You require;

Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • UNN requires candidates, in addition to minimum entry requirements, to have ‘0’ level credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics at not more than one (1) sitting.
  • Direct entry candidates, in addition to satisfying the UTME requirements, should also have three (3) ‘A’ level passes in Biology or Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics in one (1) sitting.
  • Accepts B.Sc in the related program for admission into the five (5) year standard program.
  • MBBS may be admitted into the three (3) year clinical program in Dentistry.

Jamb Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Dentistry and Dental Technology under the Faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences in the above Universities include;

Chemistry, Biology, and one (1) another Science subject

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Dentistry and Dental Technology if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require; Three (3) ‘A’ level passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Zoology, and Physics.

Jamb Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into NDA for the [aa_year] session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of  200 or above in your JAMB result.
