This is to notify the general public and all aspiring University of Nigeria (UNN) students that the Department of Pharmacy admission requirements has been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Pharmacy include the following:
- Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNN requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings.
That sitting limit matters. UNN expects the five credit passes to be obtained in no more than two sittings, so results spread across three attempts will not qualify.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language.
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Pharmacy if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Three (3) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology/Zoology, and Physics or Mathematics plus UTME requirements.
Direct Entry is unusual in asking for three A level passes rather than two, and the UTME requirements still apply alongside them.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNN for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum of 160 or above score in your JAMB result.
The Two Sitting Limit on UNN Pharmacy O Levels
The science requirement is fixed. Five SSCE credit passes are needed in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and UNN expects them within no more than two sittings.
In JAMB you write English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Direct Entry asks for three A level passes in Chemistry, Biology or Zoology and Physics or Mathematics, plus the UTME requirements, with 160 the minimum JAMB score.
