This is to notify the general public and all aspiring University of Nigeria (UNN) students that the Department of Social Works admission requirements has been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

About UNN

The University of Nigeria was the first indigenous university in Nigeria to attain full-fledged and autonomous status. It was modeled after the American educational system. It is the first land-grant university in Africa and one of Nigeria’s five most reputed universities.

The University has 102 academic departments in 15 Faculties and offers 82 undergraduate and 211 postgraduate programs.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Social Work include the following:

  • Five (5) SSCE credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

Special Requirement (Waiver) Remarks

UNN requires five (5) O’ Level credit passes, including English Language and any four (4) Arts or Social Science Subjects.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.

  • English Language.
  • Mathematics
  • Economics/Geography and any other subject

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Social Work if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in any subjects

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

UNN accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes plus the UTME requirements.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNN for the 2024/2025 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum of 160 or above score in your JAMB result.
