This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Economics & History admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Economics and History are both compulsory at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB. The pairing is the department, so neither subject substitutes for the other.
The remaining places are open to Arts or Social Science subjects on both lists, which makes this one of the more accommodating combinations at the college.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Economics & History include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Economics
- History and any other Arts/Social Science subjects
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and History are the named credits, with the remainder drawn from the Arts or the Social Sciences.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- History
- Economics and any other Arts/Social Science subject
The final entry covers two papers, so the four are English Language, History, Economics and one further Arts or Social Science subject.
Mathematics is required at Ordinary Level but is not a JAMB paper here, which is the only real difference between the two conditions.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
The figure decides eligibility for the screening exercise rather than admission. Candidates who clear it still have that stage ahead of them.
About Adeyemi College of Education
ACEONDO, also known as Adeyemi College of Education, is a Federal College in Ondo State, Nigeria’s southwest. The College was founded in 1964 and named after a Nigerian educator. It is affiliated with the prestigious OAU in Ile-Ife.
The college aspires to be the reference point for teacher education in Nigeria, educating students in international academic and moral standards.
History Beside Economics at ACEONDO
Candidates need both halves of the title. A strong Economics result without History, or the reverse, does not meet this requirement at either stage.
Once those two are in place the rest is straightforward, since the remaining credits and papers may be any Arts or Social Science subjects.
Remember the Mathematics credit at Ordinary Level, and check that your JAMB score reaches the 120 screening threshold before applying.
