This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Education and Mathematics admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Mathematics is required on all three routes into this department, and in each case it has to be supported by science subjects rather than arts ones.
The Ordinary Level condition is the most demanding of the three. Beyond English Language and Mathematics it asks for three further science credits.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Mathematics include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics plus three (3) other Science subjects
That leaves no room for a non science credit among the five. A candidate needs Mathematics plus three sciences alongside English Language.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Mathematics and any two (2) subjects from the below:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
JAMB narrows the choice to Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and asks for only two of them rather than three.

Mathematics Plus Three Sciences at ACEONDO
The Ordinary Level requirement is where most candidates will be tested, since all five credits have to be Mathematics, English Language or a science.
Having cleared that, the JAMB combination is comparatively easy, asking for only two papers from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Direct entry candidates need Mathematics and one science at Advanced Level or NCE, and UTME candidates need a JAMB score of at least 120 for the screening exercise.
