This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of English/French admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Three subjects carry across both lists for this department. English Language, French and Literature in English are required at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB.
Mathematics is the one subject named at Ordinary Level that does not appear in the JAMB combination, where its place is taken by a further Arts subject.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study English/French include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- French
- Literature in English
- Any other Arts subjects
Four subjects are named and the fifth must be an Arts subject, so the set of five leaves very little room for choice.
Literature in English is the credit most likely to be missing, since candidates who took French often did so instead of it rather than alongside it.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- French
- Literature in English
- Any other Arts subject
Three of these four are named outright and the last is any Arts subject, which keeps the registration almost entirely fixed.

JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
The threshold decides eligibility for the screening exercise rather than admission. Candidates below it do not reach that stage.

Literature in English Joins French at ACEONDO
The combination this department wants is a demanding one. French and Literature in English are both required, at Ordinary Level and in JAMB alike.
Candidates should confirm both credits before applying, along with English Language and Mathematics, which complete the named Ordinary Level list.
Only one place on each list is open, and it must be filled with an Arts subject. The JAMB score itself has to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
