This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of English/Hausa admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Hausa and Literature in English are both compulsory in this department, at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB. Neither is offered as an alternative to the other.
That makes the requirement demanding for candidates in the south west, where Hausa is studied far less often than Yoruba at secondary level.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study English/Hausa include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Hausa
- Literature in English
- And any other Arts subjects
English Language, Mathematics, Hausa and Literature in English are the four named credits, and the fifth must be another Arts subject.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Hausa
- Literature in English and any other Arts subject
The last entry covers two papers, so the four are English Language, Hausa, Literature in English and one further Arts subject.
Mathematics is the only subject that appears at Ordinary Level without carrying over into the JAMB registration.

JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
The figure sets eligibility for the screening exercise. Candidates who reach it still have that stage to pass before admission.
About Adeyemi College of Education
ACEONDO, also known as Adeyemi College of Education, is a Federal College in Ondo State, Nigeria’s southwest. The Nigerian federal government manages the college.
The College was founded in 1964 and named after a Nigerian educator. It is affiliated with the prestigious OAU in Ile-Ife.
The college aspires to be the reference point for teacher education in Nigeria, educating students in international academic and moral standards.
The Hausa Credit This ACEONDO Department Requires
Everything turns on the Hausa result. It is required among the Ordinary Level credits and again in JAMB, and no substitute is offered on either list.
Literature in English is the second subject to check, since many candidates who took a Nigerian language offered it in place of Literature rather than alongside it.
Once both are confirmed, only one Arts place remains open on each list, and the JAMB score needs to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
