This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of English/Islamic Studies admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Islamic Studies and Literature in English are both compulsory in this department. Each appears among the Ordinary Level credits and again in the JAMB combination.
Mathematics is the only subject named at Ordinary Level that does not carry over into JAMB, where a further Arts subject takes its place.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study English/Islamic Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Islamic Studies
- Literature in English and any one other Arts subject
Four subjects are named and the fifth must be an Arts subject, so the whole credit set is effectively confined to the humanities plus Mathematics.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Islamic Studies
- Literature in English and any one Arts subject
The last entry covers two papers, giving English Language, Islamic Studies, Literature in English and one further Arts subject.

JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
That threshold governs eligibility for the screening exercise. Reaching it is necessary but does not by itself secure a place.

Islamic Studies and Literature Together at ACEONDO
Candidates need both named subjects rather than one or the other, since Islamic Studies and Literature in English each appear twice in this requirement.
Literature in English is the more common gap, as candidates who concentrated on religious studies sometimes did not sit it at Ordinary Level.
One Arts place stays open on each list, Mathematics is needed among the credits, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
