This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of French/History admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
French is compulsory on both lists, while the second half of the course title is more flexible. History and Government are accepted as alternatives to each other.
That alternative is worth noting, because a candidate who studied Government rather than History can still apply to this department without difficulty.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study French/History include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- French
- History/Government and any other Arts subject
English Language, Mathematics and French are fixed, History or Government makes a fourth, and one further Arts subject completes the five.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- French
- History/Government and any other Arts subjects
The same pattern holds in JAMB without Mathematics, so the four papers are English Language, French, History or Government, and one more Arts subject.

All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
The figure governs eligibility for the screening exercise. Meeting it is necessary but does not guarantee a place in the department.

French Plus History or Government at ACEONDO
The French credit is what decides most applications here, since it is required at both stages and the department offers no substitute for it.
The History or Government alternative then widens the pool considerably, letting candidates from either background complete the combination.
Mathematics is required among the Ordinary Level credits though not in JAMB, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
