This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of French/Yoruba admission requirements have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
French and Yoruba are both required at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB. The department pairs a European language with the dominant language of its own region.
Of the three French language combinations the college offers, this is the one most candidates in Ondo State will be able to satisfy.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study French/Yoruba include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- French
- Yoruba and any other Arts subjects
English Language, Mathematics, French and Yoruba are the four named credits, and the fifth is open to any other Arts subject.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- French
- Yoruba and any other Arts subjects
Read in full that gives English Language, French, Yoruba and one further Arts subject, which is four papers in total.
Mathematics is the only named Ordinary Level credit that does not carry over into the JAMB registration.

Mathematics completes the named credits, one Arts place stays open on each list, and the JAMB score needs to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
