This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College of Education (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of French & Igbo L2 admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
French is the only language named on either subject list for this programme. English Language and Mathematics complete the fixed part of the Ordinary Level requirement.
The remaining places are filled with Arts subjects, two at Ordinary Level and two in JAMB, which leaves candidates a good deal of choice.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study French & Igbo L2 include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- French, and any two Arts subjects
Three subjects are named and the last two are open to any Arts subject, which is a lighter condition than the college applies to its other language pairings.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- French and any two Arts subjects
That reads as four papers: English Language, French and two Arts subjects. Mathematics does not carry over from the Ordinary Level list.

Reading the ACEONDO French and Igbo L2 Subject Lists
French is the subject to confirm before applying, since it is the one language named at both stages and the department offers no alternative to it.
Beyond French, the requirement is comparatively open, asking only for English Language, Mathematics and Arts subjects to make up the numbers.
Neither subject list on this page names Igbo, although it appears in the course title. Confirm with the ACEONDO admission office or the current JAMB brochure whether an Igbo credit is expected before you apply.
