This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the admission requirements for the Department of Geography/Mathematics Studies have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Geography and Mathematics are both named on each subject list, which is what the course title implies. Neither is offered as an alternative to the other.
The option places are unusually broad for a department of this kind, since they accept either Science or Social Science subjects rather than restricting candidates to one group.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Geography/Mathematics Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Geography and any two of Science/Social Sciences
English Language, Mathematics and Geography are compulsory, and the last two credits may come from the Sciences or the Social Sciences.
That breadth matters, because it lets candidates who studied Economics or Government count those results towards the five.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- Mathematics
- Geography and any other Science/Social Science subject.
Mathematics and Geography are named here, with the remaining paper drawn from the same Science or Social Science grouping used at Ordinary Level.
