This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the admission requirements for the Department of Yoruba/Social Studies have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Government and History are treated as alternatives to each other on both lists, so a candidate needs only one of the two at either stage.
English Language is the only subject required outright in both places, with Mathematics named among the Ordinary Level credits and absent from JAMB.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Yoruba/Social Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes. The subjects below must be among them:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Government/History
- One Arts/Social Science subject
English Language, Mathematics and either Government or History are specified, with one further Arts or Social Science credit named after them.

- One Arts and One Social Science subject
The JAMB condition asks a candidate to span two subject groups, offering one Arts paper and one Social Science paper alongside the named subjects.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

The college aspires to be the reference point for teacher education in Nigeria, training students in academic and moral standards of international renown.
What the ACEONDO Yoruba and Social Studies Lists Leave Out
The Government and History alternative is the most useful part of this requirement, since it lets candidates from either background apply without difficulty.
Read the JAMB entry carefully, because it asks for one Arts and one Social Science paper rather than two from a single group.
Neither subject list names Yoruba, although it appears in the course title, and the Ordinary Level list names only four of the five credits. Confirm the full requirement with the ACEONDO admission office or the current JAMB brochure before applying.
