History and Islamic Studies are both named at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB, so a candidate needs credits in each rather than one or the other.

Unlike the History and Social Studies department at this college, no option list is given. Every subject except the last place on each list is specified in advance.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study History/Islamic Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • History
  • Islamic Studies and any Arts subject

English Language, Mathematics, History and Islamic Studies are the four named credits, and the fifth may be any Arts subject.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB

  • English Language
  • History
  • Islamic Studies and any other Arts subjects

Reading the last entry as two papers gives English Language, History, Islamic Studies and one further Arts subject.

Mathematics is required among the credits but is not part of the JAMB registration for this department.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted to the  Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

The figure decides eligibility for the screening exercise. Reaching it is required but does not by itself secure a place.

About Adeyemi College of Education

Adeyemi College of Education, or Aceondo, is a Federal College in Ondo State, Nigeria’s southwest. The federal government of Nigeria manages the college.

The college, affiliated with the prestigious OAU in Ile-Ife, was founded in 1964 and named after a Nigerian educator.

The college aspires to be the reference point for teacher education in Nigeria, training students in academic and moral standards of international renown.

History and Islamic Studies Both Named at ACEONDO

There is nothing to interpret in this requirement. Four Ordinary Level credits are named outright and three JAMB papers are named, leaving one open place on each list.

Candidates should confirm the Islamic Studies credit in particular, since the department offers no equivalent such as Christian Religious Studies in its place.

Mathematics completes the named credits, an Arts subject fills the last place, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
