This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the admission requirements for the Department of History/Yoruba Studies have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
History and Yoruba are both named at Ordinary Level and again in JAMB. Each list spells the two subjects out separately, so both are required rather than one or the other.
No Government alternative is offered for History here, unlike the English and History department at the same college, so the History credit itself has to be held.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study History/Yoruba Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- History
- Yoruba and any one Arts subject
English Language, Mathematics, History and Yoruba are the four named credits, with one Arts subject completing the five.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- History
- Yoruba and any one Arts subject
Reading the last entry as two papers gives English Language, History, Yoruba and one further Arts subject, which makes four.
Mathematics is the only named Ordinary Level credit that does not reappear in the JAMB registration.

All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.

History Paired With Yoruba at ACEONDO
This is among the more achievable combinations the college offers, since Yoruba and History are both widely taught across its catchment area.
Both subjects appear twice in the requirement with no alternative, so confirm the two credits before anything else on the list.
Mathematics is needed among the credits though not in JAMB, one Arts place stays open on each list, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 for the screening exercise.
