This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Home Economics/Education admission requirements have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
All five Ordinary Level credits are named here, which sets this department apart from the Home Economics course at the same college, where more than twenty options are offered.
Direct entry is also unusually well provided for, with an NCE route, an Advanced Level route and a route for ND and HND holders in related programmes.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Home Economics/Education include the following:
Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Home Economics
- Biology
- Chemistry
There is no optional place at all. English Language, Mathematics, Home Economics, Biology and Chemistry must each be held at credit level.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- Chemistry
- Biology or Agricultural Science and one other subject
Chemistry is fixed, Biology and Agricultural Science are alternatives to each other, and one further paper completes the registration.

- ND/HND credit in Home Economics or Food Science Hotel and Catering Management, or any other related program
Each of the three routes stands on its own. The ND and HND option is the broadest, accepting Food Science, Hotel and Catering Management and other related programmes.

What ACEONDO Home Economics and Education Fixes in Advance
The Ordinary Level condition here is closed. A candidate either holds all five named credits or does not qualify through the UTME route.
Those unable to meet it should look at the direct entry options, where an NCE at merit, two relevant Advanced Level passes, or an ND or HND in a related field is accepted.
