This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the Department of Islamic/Social Studies admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Islamic Studies is the fixed subject on both lists, supported in each case by social science choices. The two lists frame those choices differently.
At Ordinary Level three option entries are named. In JAMB the department instead requires Government or History plus one Social Science or Arts paper.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Islamic/Social Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Islamic Studies and any two subjects below:
- Economics
- Government/History
- Geography
English Language, Mathematics and Islamic Studies are compulsory, with two further credits drawn from Economics, Government or History, and Geography.
Because Government and History are paired as one entry, a candidate needs only one of the two to use that option.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Islamic Studies
- Government/History and any one Social/Arts Subject
Here Government or History becomes compulsory rather than optional, which is the main difference between the two conditions.

Government or History Becomes Compulsory at ACEONDO Islamic and Social Studies
Candidates should read the two lists side by side, because a subject that is merely an option at Ordinary Level is required in JAMB.
Islamic Studies itself is needed at both stages, with no equivalent such as Christian Religious Studies offered in its place.
Mathematics is required among the credits though not in JAMB, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
