This is to inform the general public and all Adeyemi College Of Education, Ondo (ACEONDO) aspirants that the admission requirements for the Department of Social/Yoruba Studies have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Yoruba is required on both lists, paired in each case with Government or History. Those two are treated as alternatives, so only one of them is needed.
The two conditions are almost identical, differing only in that Mathematics is a named Ordinary Level credit but not a JAMB paper.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Social/Yoruba Studies include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Government/History
- Yoruba
- One Arts/Social Science
Four of the five places are specified and the last takes any Arts or Social Science subject, which gives candidates a single free choice.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Government/History
- Yoruba
- One Art/Social Science subject
The four papers are English Language, Government or History, Yoruba, and one Arts or Social Science subject of the candidate’s choosing.
Because the same Government and History alternative applies at both stages, a candidate can carry the same subject straight through.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Adeyemi College Of Education for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
That figure sets eligibility for the screening exercise. Candidates who reach it still have that stage ahead of them.

Yoruba Plus Government or History at ACEONDO Social Studies
This is a comparatively easy combination to satisfy in the college’s own region, since Yoruba, Government and History are all widely taught there.
The alternative between Government and History means a candidate needs only one of the two, at Ordinary Level and in JAMB alike.
Mathematics is required among the credits though not in JAMB, and the JAMB score has to reach 120 for the college screening exercise.
