What the ATBU Course List Tells Prospective Teachers
The balance of this list matters when choosing a course. Four of the nine are technology education programmes, which at ATBU tend to accept workshop subjects such as Metal Work and Auto Technical at O’Level.
The academic teaching subjects work differently, drawing their requirements from the conventional science papers instead. A candidate from a technical college and one from a science stream will find different doors open to them.
That difference is worth weighing before registration. A candidate who completed a technical secondary programme is often better placed applying to one of the technology education departments than to Education and Science or Education and Physics.
Each linked page sets out the O’Level subject combination, the UTME subjects and the Direct Entry conditions for that department individually. The lists are not interchangeable between courses.
Several of these departments also recognise an NCE at merit or an ND for Direct Entry. Candidates already holding one of those qualifications should read the relevant page before assuming UTME is their only route.
