Ebonyi State University (EBSU) has not published a verified school fees schedule for the 2026/2027 academic session. Newly admitted and returning students should confirm the exact figure for their department through the EBSU bursary or student portal before making any payment.
How Much Is EBSU School Fees?
A lot of pages online quote an identical ₦100,000 for indigenes and ₦150,000 for non-indigenes across every EBSU department, from Philosophy to Medicine and Law.
That uniformity marks the content as recycled rather than a real schedule. Professional courses like Medicine, Law and Nursing are charged well above the arts and social science rate at EBSU and at most other Nigerian universities.
We could not verify a current breakdown from EBSU’s own bursary pages, so this page carries no departmental table at all.
In previous sessions, EBSU’s general departments covering Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences and Education charged indigenes less than non-indigenes, with professional faculties billed separately and significantly higher.
Treat any specific 2026/2027 figure you see elsewhere with caution until the student portal confirms it. The bursar’s office on 0806 408 7963 and ictdirector@ebsu.edu.ng can give you the current breakdown by department.

How Much Is EBSU Acceptance Fee?
EBSU’s acceptance fee has previously been reported at around ₦30,000 for non-professional courses, with professional courses charged a higher rate closer to ₦50,000. This isn’t confirmed for 2026/2027, so verify the exact amount on your admission letter or the student portal before paying.
How Much Is EBSU Hostel Fee?
Students who want campus accommodation need to apply early, since spaces are limited. EBSU’s hostel fee has previously sat in the ₦30,000 to ₦35,000 range per session, though this should be confirmed with the school’s accommodation office for the current session.
The Two EBSU Figures That Still Give You a Range
Tuition is unresolved, but the surrounding charges are not entirely blank. Acceptance has been reported near ₦30,000 for general courses and closer to ₦50,000 for professional ones, and hostel space has sat between ₦30,000 and ₦35,000.
Those two alone put ₦60,000 to ₦85,000 on a fresher before tuition is even known, which is enough to start planning around while you wait for the departmental figure.
The split by course type is the detail to carry forward. If acceptance is tiered between general and professional programmes, tuition almost certainly is too, so a flat figure quoted for your department deserves suspicion.
Call the bursar or check the portal once your admission is confirmed, and we will update this page as soon as Ebonyi State University publishes its official 2026/2027 schedule.
