This article is designed to help students who wish to study Biochemistry under the Faculty of Science at The Federal University, Kashere.
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in FUKASHERE to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
The Biochemistry requirements fall into three parts, namely the WAEC or NECO subject combination, the four JAMB UTME papers, and the Direct Entry route for candidates not sitting UTME. A single score threshold applies across the university.
About Federal University, Kashere
FUKASHERE is located in Kashere, a town in Gombe State in Northeastern Nigeria.
It has no religious affiliations, and students from across the country are welcome to apply. FUKASHERE offers courses in the following discipline; Education, Science, Agriculture and Social Sciences.
It was established by the federal Government to function as a University in 2011.
Admission Requirements for Biochemistry
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Biochemistry is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and any other Science subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Biochemistry under the Faculty of Science at FUKASHERE include;
Biology, Chemistry, and any other Science subject.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Biochemistry if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two ‘A’ level passes in Biology, Chemistry, and any other science subjects.

All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUKASHERE for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Biology and Chemistry Carry FUKASHERE Biochemistry
The same two subjects appear on every list for this course. Biology and Chemistry are named in the O’level combination, in the UTME papers, and again among the A’level passes accepted at Direct Entry.
Each list then leaves one place open for any other science subject, which is where candidates can use Physics, Agricultural Science or whichever science they actually sat.
Mathematics is the subject that behaves differently. It is required among the five O’level credits but does not appear in the UTME combination, so it affects your result sheet rather than your JAMB registration.
The score needed is a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result for the 2026/2027 session. Confirm that, then check Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language are all among your credits.
