FUKASHERE Department of Criminology Admission Requirement

FUKASHERE

Criminology is taught under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences at The Federal University, Kashere. The requirements are built around Economics and Mathematics rather than around any criminology or government paper.

That surprises many applicants. Neither Government nor Civic Education is named at O’Level or in the UTME combination, and Economics carries the weight instead.

Confirm that Criminology appears on the current FUKASHERE course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination.

About Federal University, Kashere

FUKASHERE is located in Kashere, a town in Gombe State in Northeastern Nigeria.

It has no religious affiliations, and students from across the country are welcome to apply. FUKASHERE offers courses in the following discipline; Education, Science, Agriculture and Social Sciences.

It was established by the Federal Government to function as a University in 2011.

Admission Requirements for Criminology

WAEC/NECO Subject Combination

The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Criminology is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and any other social science/art subject.

JAMB Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.

Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Criminology under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences at FUKASHERE include;

Economics, Mathematics, and any other Social science/Art subject.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Criminology if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two ‘A’ level passes in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, Accounting, Business Management, History and Government.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUKASHERE for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.

Economics, Not Government, Opens FUKASHERE Criminology

The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Economics and any other social science or arts subject. Economics is compulsory even though the course is a criminology degree.

The UTME combination keeps the same shape. English Language is compulsory, Economics and Mathematics are named, and the third paper may be any social science or arts subject.

A candidate who prepared Government and Literature but skipped Economics would therefore fail the subject condition at both stages. There is no alternative offered for it.

Direct Entry still requires Economics, with the second ‘A’ level pass drawn from Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, Accounting, Business Management, History or Government. Government appears here and only here.

A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at FUKASHERE.
