Sociology is taught under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at Federal University, Lokoja (FULOKOJA). Government or History is the named subject at both the O’Level and Direct Entry stages.
Mathematics sits outside the five credits and is accepted at pass level instead. That distinction between a pass and a credit is the detail candidates most often get wrong here.

Confirm that Sociology appears on the current FULOKOJA course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination. A course entered in error cannot be assessed against these conditions.

A Pass in Mathematics Is Enough for FULOKOJA Sociology
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in Government or History, English Language and three other subjects. The three remaining credits carry no stated restriction at all.
Mathematics is then handled separately. A pass is required rather than a credit, which gives candidates who struggled with the subject a realistic route into the department.
The UTME combination is the most open part of the page. English Language is compulsory and the three accompanying papers may be any Social Science or Arts subjects.
Direct Entry returns to the named pair. Two ‘A’ Level or NCE passes are required in Government or History, so advanced level candidates have a much narrower field than UTME candidates.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at FULOKOJA. With subject conditions this open, that score does much of the filtering.
