O’Level Subject Combination
Candidates must possess five (5) O’ level credits, including English Language, Literature in English, and any other 3 subjects obtained at no more than two sittings.
Two subjects are named and the other three are open. The two sitting limit applies to the full set, so a third attempt at any single subject puts the combination outside the requirement.
JAMB Subject Combinations
Candidates who wish to study English And Linguistics at FUOTUOKE will write the following four (4) subjects in Jamb.
Use of English, Lit.-in-English, one other Art subject, and another Arts or Social Science subject.
The third and fourth papers differ in scope. The third has to be an Arts subject, while the fourth may come from either the Arts or the Social Sciences.
FUOTUOKE JAMB Score
Generally, For any candidate to be considered for admission to the FUOTUOKE, the candidate must score 200 and above in JAMB.
That 200 applies across the university rather than to this department alone. Clearing it keeps your application in consideration without securing a place.
FUOTUOKE English and Linguistics Departmental Cut-off Mark
To be offered admission to the FUOTUOKE Department of English And Linguistics, the candidate must score 220 and above in the school post-Utme examination.
Note the gap between the two figures. The departmental mark of 220 is set above the university JAMB floor of 200, and it is measured in the school’s own post UTME examination.
Checking Your Arts Subjects for FUOTUOKE English and Linguistics
Start with Literature in English. It is required alongside English Language at O’level and again in the JAMB combination, and it is the credit candidates most often lack.
Then count your sittings, since the five credits have to come from no more than two, and choose your remaining two JAMB papers from the Arts and Social Sciences.
