Building Trades Count Toward the FUTA Building Credits

The O’level section is the longest part of this page, and it is written with construction candidates in mind. Bricklaying, concreting, wall and ceiling finishing, joinery and carpentry all appear in it.

They sit alongside the conventional subjects, namely Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language, Physics and Economics, as well as Fine Art, Geography, Wood Work, Biology, Technical Drawing and Further Mathematics.

That breadth stops at the next stage. At UTME, Physics and Mathematics are fixed and the fourth paper comes from Chemistry, Geography, Art, Biology or Economics.

Direct Entry states the same combination, and separately accepts two A’level or NCE passes at 200 or 300 level through an NCE, HND or OND programme.

The university has a competitive admissions process and does not consider a student’s age, cultural background or religion when deciding whether to admit them. A minimum of 180 and above in JAMB applies for the 2026/2027 session.
