Admission Requirements for Industrial and Production Engineering
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Industrial and Production Engineering is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, and any other Science subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Industrial and Production Engineering at FUTA include Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Direct Entry Requirement
You need to fulfill these conditions to gain Direct Entry admission to study Industrial and Production Engineering if you do not intend to use UTME.
You require Mathematics and Physics.
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in any 200 or 300-level course at the NCE/HND/OND program.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUTA for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Chemistry Drops Out at FUTA Industrial and Production Engineering Direct Entry
Chemistry is required at O’level and again at UTME, yet the Direct Entry line names only Mathematics and Physics. That is the one point where the three routes diverge.
Direct Entry also accepts two A’level or NCE passes at 200 or 300 level through an NCE, HND or OND programme, which suits candidates already holding a diploma.
At O’level the five credits are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other science subject, so only the fifth is open.
The university has a competitive admissions process and does not consider a student’s age, cultural background or religion when deciding whether to admit them. A minimum of 180 and above in JAMB applies for the 2026/2027 session.
