Admission Requirements for Industrial Chemistry
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Industrial Chemistry is Five (5) SSCE credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Agricultural Science.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Industrial Chemistry at FUTA include Chemistry, Mathematics, and any in Physics, Biology, or Agricultural Science.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Industrial Chemistry if you do not intend to use UTME.
You require two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in Chemistry and Mathematics. Direct Entry candidates can also apply with an ND in Science Technology or any relevant program.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUTA for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
A National Diploma Route Into FUTA Industrial Chemistry
Direct Entry here is not limited to A’levels. An ND in Science Technology or any relevant programme is accepted, which gives polytechnic graduates a path that does not depend on advanced level results.
The conventional Direct Entry option is two A’level or NCE passes in Chemistry and Mathematics, the same pair that anchors the UTME combination.
At UTME the third paper can be Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and the O’level list accepts Biology or Agricultural Science in its fifth place.
Chemistry and Mathematics are required on every route with no alternative. Candidates need a minimum of 180 and above in their JAMB result for the 2026/2027 session.
