WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Business Education is Five (5) SSCE credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two other subjects in the Social Sciences or Arts.
Three credits are named and the last two are confined to the Social Sciences or Arts, so Chemistry and Physics will not count towards this list even though they appear in the UTME.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Business Education under the Faculty of Education at MAUTECH include;
Mathematics, Economics, and Literature in English/History/Government/Geography/Chemistry/Physics.
Six subjects compete for that final place. Literature in English, History, Government and Geography also satisfy the O’Level requirement, so choosing from those four keeps both lists aligned.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Business Education if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in two (2) relevant subjects.
No subject is named for Direct Entry, only that both passes be relevant. Economics and the commercial subjects are the natural reading, given what the other two sections require.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Six Subjects Compete for the Fourth UTME Slot at MAUTECH Business Education
After English Language, Mathematics and Economics, the department leaves one UTME place open to Literature in English, History, Government, Geography, Chemistry or Physics.
Only four of those six also count towards your O’Level credits, because the O’Level list is confined to the Social Sciences and Arts. Choosing from those four saves you a subject.
Direct Entry asks only for two relevant A Level or NCE passes, and UTME candidates need 180 or above in JAMB to be eligible for the MAUTECH screening.
