WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Geography is Five (5) SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Geography, and any other social science subject.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Education and Geography under the Faculty of Education at MAUTECH include;
Geography and two other social science subjects.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Geography if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit which should include Geography /Physics.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Geography Plus Social Sciences at MAUTECH Education and Geography
The O’Level requirement is five SSCE credits in Mathematics, English Language, Geography and any other social science subject. Three papers are named, which leaves genuine choice in the remaining places.
The UTME combination follows the same logic. English Language is compulsory, Geography is fixed, and the other two subjects may be any social science papers the candidate has prepared for.
Direct Entry is where the pattern breaks. Two ‘A’ Level passes or an NCE at merit are required and must include Geography or Physics, so a science subject is accepted on this route alone.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at MAUTECH. It decides who is eligible for screening rather than who is finally admitted to the department.
