Biochemistry is taught under the Faculty of Sciences at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). The O’Level stage names every credit, while the later stages allow a choice between Physics and Mathematics.
The Direct Entry section is the broadest on the page, recognising advanced level passes and also an NCE, ND or HND in a related programme alongside the UTME requirements.

Confirm that Biochemistry appears on the current NSUK course list and that your JAMB registration records it correctly before you sit the examination. A course entered in error cannot be assessed against these conditions.

A Fixed O Level and a Flexible Direct Entry at NSUK Biochemistry
The O’Level requirement names all five credits: English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology. Nothing is optional at that stage, so the full science set has to be in place.
The UTME combination then relaxes. English Language is compulsory, Biology and Chemistry are fixed, and the third subject may be either Physics or Mathematics.
Direct Entry accepts two ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology. It also recognises an NCE, ND or HND in a related programme, provided the UTME requirements are met as well.
That second option is the one worth noting. It gives polytechnic and college of education graduates a stated route that the UTME path does not offer.
A JAMB score of 180 and above is the screening threshold for the 2026/2027 session at NSUK, and it applies regardless of which route a candidate takes.
