Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Agricultural Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology at Obafemi Awolowo University are;
Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agricultural Engineering if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- ‘A’ level or IJMB passes, or equivalents, in Physics and Mathematics.
- ND at upper credit or distinction in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Bio-Resources Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- HND in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Bio-Resources Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into OAU for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
Reading the Long O Level List for OAU Agricultural Engineering
The O Level requirement for this programme is longer than most, and that length works in your favour. Four subjects are fixed: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The fifth credit is where the list opens up.
That fifth slot accepts Introduction to Agricultural Science, but it also accepts a long run of technical trade subjects. Metal Work, Wood Work and Building or Engineering Drawing all count, as do several machinery and workshop papers.
Candidates leaving technical colleges often hold exactly those papers, so check your statement of result against the list before assuming you fall short.
Direct Entry gives three routes in. A level or IJMB passes in Physics and Mathematics work, as does an ND at upper credit or distinction, or an HND, in Agricultural Engineering or a closely related field.
The UTME combination is narrower. English Language is compulsory, and your three other subjects must be Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, with no substitutions offered.
OAU sets its screening threshold at 200 for the 2026/2027 session, which sits above the national minimum. Treat that figure as a floor rather than a target if you want a realistic shot at this department.
