Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), formerly known as the University of Ife, is a Federal Government-owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.
Obafemi Awolowo University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields of specialization spanning the humanities, the arts, the natural sciences, the social sciences, the medical sciences, engineering, and technology.
The university has 13 faculties and two colleges the Postgraduate College and the College of Health Sciences — administered in more than 60 departments. It was previously associated with Loma Linda University in California, USA.
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Family, Nutrition, and Consumer Sciences; You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and any one of the following: Fine Arts, Textile. Construction, Technical Drawing, Home Management, Foods, and Nutrition.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Family, Nutrition, and Consumer Sciences under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above Universities include;
Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture Science, and Mathematics/Physics.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Family, Nutrition, and Consumer Sciences if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
Two (2) `A’ level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/ Agricultural Science / Economics/Physics/ Mathematics/Geography.
