This article is designed to help students who wish to study Economics under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at the Sokoto State Univeristy (SSU).
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered at SSU to carefully confirm and see if the course they selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
The Sokoto State Univeristy (SSU) is located in Sokoto State, Nigeria.
It was established in 2009 as part of a motivated effort on the part of the Sokoto State to satisfy the quest of the people of the state for excellence and education.
It began as the Sokoto State Univeristy School of Developmental Studies, which ran a one-year degree program to prepare students for the University.
Admission Requirements for Economics
WAEC/NECO Subject Combination
The WAEC/NECO subject combination and requirements needed to study Economics is Five (5) SSCE credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two Arts or Social Science subjects.
JAMB Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course.
Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Economics at SSU include Economics, Mathematics, and any in Government, History, Geography, Lit-in-English, French, or CRK/IRK.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Economics if you do not intend to use UTME.
You require two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes in Economics and any in Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, Accounting, Business Management, History, or Government.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into SSU for the 2024/2025 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
