This is to inform the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the admission requirements for the Department of Educational Administration have been published.
The sections below cover the O’Level credit passes, the four subjects sat in JAMB UTME, two Direct Entry routes, and the JAMB score Benin requires for screening into Educational Administration.
English Language and Mathematics run through the requirement, with Economics named at O’Level and offered again as a UTME option.
Benin also accepts five TC II merit passes in place of the school certificate credits, which opens the course to teacher training candidates.

Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Educational Administration include the following:
- Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, and Economics.
- Five TC II merit passes, including English and Mathematics.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Any three (3) of Literature in English, History, French, Geography/Physics, Economics and Mathematics.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Educational Administration if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes from Literature in English, History, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo with an ‘O’ level pass in Mathematics.
- NCE merit in the subjects listed above.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2026/2027 session should know that you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result to be eligible for the screening.
Mathematics Follows You Through UNIBEN Educational Administration
Mathematics appears in all three routes. It is an O’Level credit, it is among the UTME options, and Direct Entry candidates need at least an O’Level pass in it alongside their A Level or NCE subjects.
The UTME list is wide, taking any three of Literature in English, History, French, Geography or Physics, Economics and Mathematics, which suits arts and commercial candidates alike.
Direct Entry draws on a different group that adds the Nigerian languages and religious studies. UTME candidates face the Benin screening threshold of 200 in JAMB.
