Geography is offered at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) within the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences. This page covers the O’Level credits, the JAMB combination, the Direct Entry route and the JAMB score.
UNILAG is a federal government research university in Lagos State, in south western Nigeria. It remains among the most competitive institutions in the country for admissions, and holds one of the largest student populations of any Nigerian university.
Geography is compulsory in all three sections, while Mathematics is required only at pass level for the UTME route.
The Direct Entry list is the broadest part of the page, reaching into the sciences in a way the O’Level and UTME rules do not.

- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Geography and any one (1) of Economics, Government, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Lagos, the Candidate must score 200 and above in JAMB.
Where the Sciences Enter UNILAG Geography
The O’Level requirement is five SSC credit passes in English Language, Geography and three Arts or Social Science subjects, with at least a pass in Mathematics.
The JAMB combination names English Language and Geography, with two other Arts or Social Science subjects completing the four papers.
Neither of those lists admits a science subject, which makes the Direct Entry clause the exception on this page.
Direct Entry takes two A level passes in Geography and one of Economics, Government, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, so a science candidate with a Geography A level has a route in.
The JAMB score for any UNILAG department is 200 and above. Confirm your Geography credit and your Mathematics pass before registering.
