UNIZIK Department of Philosophy Admission Requirements

Read the score figures carefully before the subject lists, because they are the part of this page that will actually determine the outcome of an application.

O’Level Subject Combination

Candidates must possess five (5) O’ level credits, including English Language and any other 4 subjects, and at least a pass in maths obtained at not more than two sittings.

JAMB Subject Combinations

Candidates who wish to study Philosophy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) will write the following four (4) subjects in Jamb.

Use of English, Any three subjects.

UNIZIK JAMB Score

Generally, For any candidate to be considered for admission in the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), the candidate must score 200 and above in JAMB.

UNIZIK Philosophy Departmental Cut-Off Mark

To be offered admission to the UNIZIK Department of Philosophy, the candidate must score 220 and above in the school post-Utme examination.

An Open Subject List but a 220 Mark at UNIZIK Philosophy

English Language is the only subject named at either stage. At O’level the other four credits are free choices, and at JAMB the three papers beside Use of English are entirely unspecified.

Mathematics is handled separately and generously, required only as an ordinary pass rather than a credit.

The credits must still be gathered in no more than two sittings, which is a condition on how your result was earned rather than on what it contains.

With so little riding on subjects, the scores do the filtering. The university asks for 200 and above in JAMB and the department asks for 220 and above in the school post-UTME examination.

Prepare for the screening accordingly, since that is where a Philosophy application is decided here.
