The University of Nigeria (UNN), Nsukka, has published the admission requirements for its Department of Mathematics, covering the O’Level credits, the JAMB UTME papers and both cut-off marks.
Only three O’Level subjects are named here, and one of those is a choice between Physics and Chemistry. That leaves two credits entirely open, which is unusual for a science department.
Both score figures are 200, so Mathematics does not set a higher bar than the university minimum at screening.

The O’Level requirement is five credits including English Language, Mathematics, and either Physics or Chemistry. The other two are not specified at all.
That gives candidates real freedom to build the remainder around whichever subjects their results are strongest in.
The JAMB combination names Use of English and Mathematics, with two further papers from Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
Economics and Agricultural Science on that list widen the course considerably, since neither is a laboratory science and both are commonly held outside the pure science stream.
The one requirement that never moves is Mathematics itself. Confirm that credit, then clear 200 in JAMB and 200 again in the school UTME screening exercise.
