The Federal University, Otuoke, is a federal government-owned University located in Otuoke, a town in Ogbia’s local government area of Bayelsa State, Southern Nigeria. The University was established in 2011 and started with 282 pioneer students.
It offers degree courses at undergraduate levels. The University offers undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Science, Management Science, Social Science, Humanities, Education, Engineering, and Technology.
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Economics and Development Studies; You require;
Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and at least two (2) other relevant subjects from Commerce, Government, and Accounting.
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Economics and Development Studies under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above Universities include;
Economics, Mathematics, and any Government, History, Geography, and Literature in English, French, and CRS/IRS
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Economics and Development Studies if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
ND/NCE with upper/merit credit in the relevant program in addition to five (5) credit passes at SSC at not more than two (2) sittings
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUOTUOKE for the 2025/2026 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
