O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Physics with Electronics; You require;
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any other Science subject from Further Mathematics and Biology or Agricultural Science.
Four credits are fixed here, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The fifth is chosen from a short named list of Further Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science rather than from the sciences in general.
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Physics with Electronics under the Faculty of Sciences at FUOTUOKE include;
Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry or Biology.
The UTME list allows Biology in place of Chemistry, which the O Level list does not. A candidate can therefore sit Biology in JAMB and still need a Chemistry credit on the WAEC or NECO result.
Physics and Mathematics are the two papers that never move. They appear in the O Level credits, on the UTME form and in the Direct Entry conditions.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Physics with Electronics if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require; NCE/Two ‘A’ level A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics or Chemistry.
Physics is compulsory on this route and the second pass may be Mathematics or Chemistry. An NCE is accepted as an alternative to the A Level passes, which widens the entry point for college of education graduates.
Jamb Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUOTUOKE for the 2026/2027 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum score of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
Where Biology Helps and Where It Does Not at FUOTUOKE Physics with Electronics
The two lists do not match, and that is the point most applicants miss. Biology is an accepted UTME paper, yet Chemistry remains a compulsory O Level credit no matter which combination you register.
Secure credits in English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, add one of Further Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and make sure your JAMB score reaches the 180 minimum set for the 2026/2027 session.
