General Admission Requirements for Nursing

To gain admission into any University to study nursing, you must have at least five (5) Credits at ‘O’ Level in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This must not be more than two (2) sittings.

Jamb subject combination for Nursing:

You require English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Also, one important admission requirement is that you score at least 200 in JAMB.

UTME Requirement for Nursing Science

Below are the O’level Subjects required for Nursing Science, Public Health, Public Health Technology, AND Public & Community Health in the Faculty/College of MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL/HEALTH SCIENCES;

  • Five (5) SSC credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English Language.

Special Consideration for O’Level Subjects

  • AAU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry in a sitting.
  • ABU and IBADAN (UI) – No admission through UTME.
  • IBADAN (UI) requires five (5) or six (6) ‘O’ level credit passes at one (1) or two (2) sittings to include English Language, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any one (1) of Economics, Government, Literature in English, History, Geography or Physics, (this will be an advantage).
  • NDU requires’0’ level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • UNN requires ‘0’ level credit passes or equivalent at not more than two (2) sittings.
