Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include the English Language.
Taken alone this line names a single subject and says nothing about sittings. The waiver remark that follows fills both gaps, so the two should be read together rather than separately.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
- UNIBEN requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes or TC II or equivalent qualification at not more than two (2) sittings. Subjects should include English Language and any two (2)Arts subjects.
Three of the five credits are accounted for once the two Arts subjects are added to English Language. TC II and equivalent qualifications are accepted in place of SSCE credits.
The two sitting limit matters as much as the subjects. Candidates who sat the examination three times cannot combine those results to make up the five credits for this department.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2026/2027 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
Two Sittings Is the Hard Limit for UNIBEN Mass Communication
Subject choice is barely restricted for this programme. English Language plus any two Arts subjects covers the named requirement, and the remaining two credits are yours to choose.
What the waiver does impose is the two sitting ceiling, which is the condition most likely to disqualify an otherwise strong application. Check how many sittings your five credits span before applying.
A JAMB score of 200 or above is also required before UNIBEN will screen you, which is higher than the mark many other federal universities set.
