UNN Department of Fine Art/Applied Arts Admission Requirement 2024/2025

This is to inform the general public that the management of the University Of Nigeria (UNN), Nsukka, has published the admission requirements for her Department of Fine Art/Applied Arts admission aspirants.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

About UNN

The University of Nigeria was the first indigenous university in Nigeria to attain full-fledged and autonomous status. It was modelled after the American educational system. It is the first land-grant university in Africa and one of Nigeria’s five most reputed universities.

The University has 102 academic departments in 15 Faculties and offers 82 undergraduate and 211 postgraduate programs.

O’Level Subject Combination

The subject combination and requirements needed to study Fine Art / Fine and Applied Arts include credit passes in English Language and Fine Arts.

For holders of NTC, the relevant subjects include:

  • General Woodwork
  • Building/Engineering Drawing
  • Introduction to Building Construction
  • Decorative Painting
  • SprayPainting, Lining, Sign and Design
  • Wall hanging
  • Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing
  • Printing Origination
  • Machine Printing and Finishing
  • General Metal Work
  • Basic Electricity
  • Spinning
  • Weaving
  • Surface Design and Printing
  • Bleaching, Dyeing, and Finishing
  • Graphic Design
  • Graphic Printing and Ceramics.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • UNN requires five O’ Level credit passes in Fine and Applied Arts, English Language, and one Science subject.
  •  Candidates with NBC/NTC must have five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include the English language, Painting and Decorating, Technical drawing, and a Science subject.

 JAMB Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory.

Therefore, the three other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Fine and Applied Arts include Fine Arts and two other Arts or Social Science subjects.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfil to gain Direct Entry admission to study Fine Art / Fine and Applied Arts if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Fine Arts and any other subject.
  • ND, upper credit HND, lower credit from recognized institutions.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into NDA for the 2024/2025 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a minimum score of  200 or above in your JAMB result.
