The University of Nigeria (UNN), Nsukka, has published the admission requirements for its Department of Social Works, covering the O’Level credits, the JAMB UTME papers and both cut-off marks.

Social Works is one of the few UNN departments whose screening mark sits below the university cut-off. The general JAMB figure is 200, while this department asks for 180 at screening.
That makes JAMB itself the binding hurdle here. A candidate who clears 200 has already passed the departmental standard.

The university has a very competitive admissions process and does not consider a student’s age, cultural background, or religion when deciding whether to admit them. Thus, a diverse student body is made possible.

Why JAMB Matters More Than Screening for UNN Social Works
The O’Level requirement is five credit passes including English Language, Government or History, and any three Arts or Social Science subjects.
Only two subjects are therefore specified, which leaves considerable room to build the remaining three around whatever your results actually show.
The JAMB combination is looser still. English Language plus three Social Science or Arts subjects, with nothing named beyond the compulsory paper.
Given how open the subject rules are, the 200 JAMB cut-off is what decides most applications. Clear that and the 180 departmental mark follows without further effort.
