The National Universities Commission (NUC) has expressed grave concern over the fact that some institutions in Nigeria are running postgraduate programs that are not approved and that lead to the awarding of masters and doctoral degrees.

The Commission has also noted that some institutes are granting the same postgraduate degrees, either independently or through unauthorized affiliations with universities in Nigeria and abroad.
